- Posted on Monday 24 November 2008 - 21:35Elisabeth Benkam, VoicesofAfrica mobile reporter in Yaounde, CameroonGarbage has become part of the landscape in several neighbourhoods of the capital Yaoundé. The latter’s trucks go around neighbourhoods every day to collect the garbage, but the task is so huge that more efforts need to be made.
More importantly, populations need education, especially regarding the stream water that they use for all sorts of activities, including cooking, washing and so on. Education campaigns are regularly organised but their fruits are still to be seen.
