The foundation is strongly aware that the first step in helping people to solve problems is to know those problems and local efforts aimed at finding solutions.

With its pioneer VoicesofAfrica mobile reporting project (www.voices-of-africa.com) , the Foundation is endeavouring to empower local media talents in Africa, taking advantage of two obvious things: on the one hand willing and often jobless talented journalists, and, on the other, the omnipresence of the mobile phone. It adds technology, training and financial support, to turn the phone into a reporting tool.
