The acting Chair of the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF, Aminu Miagari is under pressure to call off the elections of the NFF slated for August 21. Doubts, arguments and other uncertainties surrounding the elections of a new executive for the NFF Board are raging.

The pressure on the NFF is getting more intense following the court injunction filed by one of the aspirants, ex-international Olusegun Odegbami, claiming that the election into the position of the President of the Federation should be stopped.

Sources said the director general of the NSC, Patrick Ekeji has directed the NFF's acting President Aminu Miagari to instruct the congress of the Federation to call off the election. However, Miagari has refused to do so, telling Goal.com that he does not have the power to postpone the election.

"It’s only the congress that has the power to call off the election slated for August 21.

I cannot postpone the election. If there is anything that is going to be postponed, maybe it would be that of the President. That is what the court is restraining," he said.
