These drums are imported from very many places but mostly from Kenya and some from the Uganda especially from mattress making factories. These drums contain toxic chemicals that are harmful to the community at large and toxic to the people who work on them.
The drums are cleaned in order to get rid of the chemical. This is done by burning another chemical inside the drum, placed on old car tyres. The result is a huge smoke of black smoke that pollutes the air and exposes residents to various health hazards. The cleaned drums are sold and used as water containers in households.
