A man who is a professional teacher is being held by police in Kayunga on allegations of defiling a 13year old girl. The district CID officer, Grant Tabo, identified on Sunday the suspect as Godfrey Okech (36), a teacher in Kayonjo primary school in Busaana sub-county.

Okech had been with the girl for eight months Tabo said Okech early this year took the girl after her father of Kiyuuya village in Busaana had caught him red handed in love with her daughter and gave her to him.

The father reportedly wanted to report the matter to pollice, but Mr Okech gave him shs 200,000 to settle the matter.

“When he got the money he gave him the girl'', Tabo said. He said angry LC's and residents complained and reported the matter to the police.
