The awakening of the young people
- Posted on Thursday 4 October 2007 - 18:12During the last ten years, the CentralAfrican Republic, like some other countries of under erea, knew social, political and military sudden starts with repitition. We noted here and there: armed rebellions, mutinies, coups d'etat, strikes of the civils servant and government officials, displacements of the populations inside as outside the country. With that is added a massive arrival of the refugees coming from the bordering countries like Chad, Sudan and the DR Congo. All these crises, contributed in a serious way to the quasi-total paralysis of the country, affecting all the social structures as a whole.
The consequences of these crises had like corollaries: destruction of the some rare factories which existed, closing of the commercial firms, depravity of manners, not schooling of the children, increase in unemployement and so on...
The life became intorable and unbearable for evryone. The young girls, even those in fifteen year old lower, indulged all in the prostitition. The young boys as far as they are concerned, organized themselves in armed band with the brigands, the hold-up men, the smokers of hemp etc...
However, we notice today with many satisfactions that these phenomena tend to disappear gradually. The arrival with the capacity of the current leaders contributed much to the restoration of peace and safety in most of the country.
The idle young men of yesterday start to organize themselves in so many producing activities.
Thus, much of them launch out into the sector of the small trade celled "BOUBANGUERE"
They regularly travel from Bangui to Garamboulye and Betoko, two CentralAfrican cities bordering Cameroon, where are held weekly markets.
These young people have through all the city of Bangui and at each corner of the streets, small shops, displays where they expose their goods. They also initiated a new policy which consists in helping the youngest, especially those who gave up the school. They deliver small articles to them, after the sale of which the latter make them payments.
But those who lack financial support, do manuel works as: manufacture of the chairs, tables, armchairs out of the cane or the woodcarving etc...
On the other hand, the young women are not remainder. They become increasingly active. Instead of the prostitition, they manage for the majority, the small restaurants where they sell to eat with drinking with the invaluable contest of the municipality of Bangui which built pretty boxes called " DA TI OMBA" 'house of the aunt). A few of them are interested in the small trade of the female articles, or organized in association of fight against the AIDS.
Thus, in the future, these young people will become the famous businessmen of tomorrow and will be able to worry the large tradesmen.
