Ugandan government brutalizes journalists
Fifteen journalists were turned away from covering the National Resistance Movement Party, [NRM] a political party that brought President Yoweri Kagutta Museveni into power in 1986. The Journalists had gone to cover the 25th Anniversary liberation day celebrations in Masaka district about 50 Miles from Kampala City. - The journalists from Red Pepper, WBS & NTV television stations, Bukedde FM, Radio Buddu and Beat FM were shown the exit by Soldiers attached to the presidential guard brigade on grounds that they are a security threat to NRM supporters at the function.
Only six reporters working for Tropix Fm were allowed to cover the celebrations.
