S-A: Research points out child rights issues
A recently concluded research on early childhood development (ECD) has come to the conclusion that there persist many right issues among children in Umtata, Eastern Cape, South Africa. - Masikhule an ECD Organisation conducted the research. It took Masikhule about 8 months to do the research. The people in the community felt that the children in the community lost touch with the values and behaviour, that was important to the adult community in the village.

The children in Johannesburg public hospitals were almost abandoned by striking nurses and other hospital staff. Some nurses and some public hospital staff were taking part in the public service strike that went on for more than two weeks, over higher wages. Some nurses were intimidated and couldn't perform their duties that left the children in hospitals vulnerable. - Hospitals had to make use of the national army and volunteers. The army helped taking care of patients and also played a security roll, protecting the non striking nurses from the striking nurses.
