    Mauritania ousted president Sidi Ould Cheikh Abdallahi was released from house arrest early this morning. Ould cheikh abdullahi was taken from his native town of Lamden where he was in a state of house arrest, to the capital Nouakchott by a group of soldiers including two members of the ruling junta. - At first there was a controversy about his destination, but by 6:00a.m he was in his house in the capital where some journalists camped the whole night, abdullahi immediately returned to Lemden where he let his family.     A Mauritanian ex-minister, Abdel Kader, has been detained after accusing the Presidential Guard Battalion of involvement in the recruitment of non-Mauritanians. He made the comments on TV. The Mauritanian Defence Ministry has also filed a lawsuit against him for making those statements. - Ould Abdel kader was arrested for the second time on Wednesday, October 22, 2008.   4. Jurists meet ousted Mauritanian president


    A group of Mauritanian jurists has managed to meet with ousted president Sidi Abdallahi in his detention camp. The group announced an initiative for solving the Mauritanian crisis. It suggested the release of the president and the holding of an elections supervised by an independent consensus government. - The meeting lasted for an hour and a half and was an opportunity for the group to discuss their initiative with Ould Cheikh Abdallahi.
