Zambians prepare for presidential election
On 20th September 2011, the people of the Republic of Zambia will be going to the polls to cast their vote on who should have the right to rule them for the next five years. There are about 10 political parties participating; however there are only three main ones. - The Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) led by current president, Rupiah Banda, the Patriotic Front (PF) led by Michael Sata and United Party for National Development (UPND) and its presidential candidate is Hakainde Hichilema.
Zambia is Africa’s leading copper producer and ranked seventh in the world. It’s economic growth rises and falls with the movement of the copper prices.
