5 dead in Mogadishu’s Bakara Market
- Reports from Mogadishu indicate that at least 5 people have been killed while scores others have been seriously wounded in the Bakara market in Mogadishu after running battles between Al Shabaab fighters and U.N Peacekeepers Amisom. Speaking to Radio Shabelle officials of the emergency traffic unit put the figures of the injured to 20 saying most were hit by a series of mortar raids into the market when they were trying to leave the crowded market place. This came after Al Shabaab fighters attacked with mortars the Somali parliament which was in session missing the target hitting nearby houses killing 4 others.
