  1. Stock theft on decrease in Matabeleland South


    - CASES of stock theft in Matabeleland South Province have gone down by 24 percent following intensified efforts by police to combat the crime. Provincial Police Spokesperson, Inspector Tafanana Dzirutwe said the joint efforts saw cases of stock theft dropping from 746 cases between January and May last year to 564 cases in the same period this year. “We started noting the decline in stock theft this January and the pattern has been going down even in June and the month of July that we are in,” he said.     - The Minister for Media, Information and Publicity, Webster Shamu and his Permanent Secretary, George Charamba face contempt of court charges after four freelance journalists were barred from covering the Common Market for East and Southern Africa (COMESA) Summit in violation of a High Court ruling authorising the journalists to cover the summit without accreditation.
