- I recently traveled with a friend of mine to Messina, the boarder town which provides entry and exit to and from Zimbabwe and was shocked by the increasing number of street children in the town. They roam about begging for food and money and some even enterprisingly collect empty plastic bottles for re-sale in Beitbridge. What strokes me the most was the extent to which the current political and economic situation in Zimbabwe has led innocent young souls to risk prosecution and unknown dangers in search of survival.
