- By Baba Abdulai Ghana’s National Coalition on Mining (NCOM) at a two-day strategy meeting in Accra on capacity-building of critical and emerging issues in mining sector, including salt, oil and gas has come out with a strategy on mining in general. The meeting specifically reviewed and examined a national campaign Forum held in Obuasi in the Ashanti Region and follow-up on issues for its 2011 forum, the African Union-UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) Mining Reform Agenda, valuation principles and procedure, challenges of the salt mining, in particular the Ada Songor salt mining, environmental and Social Impact Assessment procedures.
