Rural Help Orphanage Association (HROA) is now taking care of the young boy who lives with his old grandmother after both parents died of HIV/AIDS.
Gamasara Primary school Head teacher Ms Mayasa Gellege handled part of the donation provided by HROA to the boy recently.

The donation included a mattress, shoes, school uniform, soaps and exercise books. Before that Mahenye has been walking to school without even shoes for years.

'On behalf of the school I thank HROA for supporting Mahenye. This is a good example that should be emulated by other people. There are many children who need similar support in our school. Some of them sleep with goats in a single room', the school head teacher says.

Based in Tarime district, HROA, a local Non- Governmental Organization strives to address problems facing orphans and vulnerable children in poor rural villages with education and health areas getting top priority.

The organization was officially registered in May 16, 2011 and it has become the first NGO to own website (www.hroat.org) featuring information on orphans and vunerable children living in the Northern Tarime district where majority of people live below poverty line.

Presently the organization supports about 50 orphans and vulnerable children, according to it's Secretary Mr Samson Meng'anyi.
