Silver lead Malawi Super League

  1. Lilongwe giants Silver Strikers lead the 15-member TNM Super League of Malawi with 34 points from 14 games played at the end of the first round over the weekend.

Silver, who are yet to lose a game in the league, secured their leading position last weekend after defeating Big Bullets 2-1.

Escom United finished the first round on second position with 32 points after being held to a goalless draw by Tigers FC on Saturday in Blantyre.

Tigers are fourth on the 15-member log table with 28 points just like reigning champions MTL Wanderers.

Wanderers, who are having an indifferent run this season, are also facing administrative problems with their coach Rahman Gumbo forced to return to his home in Zimbabwe following the expiry of his work permit.

Wanderers are ahead of Tigers on superior goal aggregate.
