Xenophobic attacks in S-Africa
- I am an embarrased, upset and worried South Africa. Over the last few months xenophobic attacks have been on the increase throughout South Africa, and now its became a national security threat. Its absolutly shameful on govermnet level. Our govermnet has totally ignored illegal immigration into this country, they have failed on foreign policy, border control and home affairs. Its not a secret that Zimbwaens and Somalians are flocking into the country because of political assylum, and Nigerians, Zambians and others are floking in for a better financial life. Why has our goverment not created refugee camps for those in trouble or some sophisticated system of keeping track and monitorin…Nairobi Bombed with Music!
- 4 July. Nairobi was on fire this weekend with national and international musicians gathering for what was called the SAWA SAWA CONCERT! Sawa sawa is local slang for "it’s ok" and it was more than ok according to me, it was FANTISTIC to say the least. The concert was a 2 day affair on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd and since living in Nairobi now for a year and a half, I was delighted to see the turn up of Nairobi’s international community, it was excellent, everyone was on One Love Mode, joyful I tell you. Being a South African, concerts are exciting in Jozi because of the music line up, but never family friendly, meaning one seldom brings their kids to festivals , because there…My 2 cents opinion on Zimbabwe!
- 16 March 2007Its all over the news, Robert Mugabe President of Zimbabwe, has officially become a dangerous tyrant. The leader of the only opposition party in Zimbabwe was arrested and taught a lesson-in the old fashion touchier way. Now, no Zimbabwean will dare to go against BROTHER R publicly.Off course this now puts the spotlight on the rest of the African countries, especially good old neighborly South Africa. So here comes my 2 cents worth opinion. As far as I understand this good to bad to worse tale of Zimbabwe, is that BROTHER R was apparently a hero in his early years of presidency. He was an educated [still is] visionary but above all, democracy supporting president. He did not cha…South Africans, a sour taste in my mouth!
- 22 February 2007, by Oageng Tsatsi in Nairobi, Kenya. It"s true what they say about traveling,"it makes you appreciate where you come from". So my recent emotional battle has been - nostalgia. Yes, Nairobi is a friendly, calm and peaceful city that gives one a peace of mind unlike vibby, exciting, rough and let"s not forget crime infested Johannesburg. But what I really truly miss about South Africa is the people, so naturally one will try to fulfill this emotion by seeking South Africans- right! Oh what a big mistake that has been. After much research I was delighted to find out that there"s actually a few South African social clubs in Nairobi, however I am disappointed to report that aft…SOUTH AFRICANS, A SOUR TASTE IN MY MOUTH!

- If you have not seen the movie Blood Diamond- do yourself a favour and enlighten yourself about war on the African continent-THE TRUTH. Aside from Leonardo Dicaprio"s excellent execution of a white Southern African accent [really he nails it!], the movie is bloody disturbingly honest about the brutality and greed for the diamond rush. It"s got me thinking all right, that every woman wants that diamond ring one day on her finger, and all American rappers want to show-off their big diamond blings on their necks, fingers and now teeth, but no one has ever thought what it takes to get these bloody diamonds to our local jewelry dealer. I mean to think that these precious stones are wombed in the…The world comes to Nairobi!
