Nigeria to appoint new coach Nov. 8

    Stephen Okechukwu Keshi and Samson Siasia have been shortlisted for the plum job, which is the head coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria. Chairman of the technical committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Barrister Chris Green told journalists in Abuja that the new Super Eagles Coach will be unveiled on November 8.

    “Yes, we are set to name a new Coach for the Super Eagles. Like you know, both (Stephen) Keshi and Samson Siasia had long signified their desire to manage the Super Eagles. After exhaustive considerations, the technical committee decided to settle for both men for the upcoming interview,” Green said.

    The interview for both men will be conducted on November 4 in Abuja while the announcement of the new coach will be made four days later.

    Barrister Green, who is the former Sharks FC of Port Harcourt chief said the technical committee will do a good job and assured Nigerians that its member would be fair and firm in the discharge of its duties in every regard. “Members of the technical committee are tested professionals, dyed-in-the-wool experts who understand what is expected of them. These are individuals who cannot be influenced and who can be trusted to make decisions in the best interests of the game,” he said.
