Morocco: Eric Gerets named new coach

Frenchman Dominique Cuperly, former deputy coach of Lens and Marseille, will assist him, according to a statement from the Morocco Football Federation.
The head of the technical bench of the Atlas Lions of Morocco has been vacant since the sacking of Frenchman Roger Lemerre last year.
Gerets, a Belgian, will leave his current position as coach of Saudi club Al Hilal in November at the latest, after the AFC Champions League, according to Supersport.com.
As a player, Gerets won 86 caps with Belgium and helped them to the 1986 World Cup semifinals. He also won the then European Cup in 1988 with PSV Eindhoven.
