Language conflict still palpable in Cameroon

    The perceived conflict between Francophone & Anglophone students in the University of Buea. The University of Buea, UB, is situated in the mountain town of Buea, capital of the Southwest Region. Fondly referred to as 'The Place To Be', the UB is designed in the Anglo-Saxon style of university education.

    Though it is predominantly an English speaking university in Cameroon, UB is open to all Cameroonians, no matter their linguistic background. Hence, to give meaning to Cameroon's bilingualism (French & English), all Cameroonians are encouraged, to academically, compete for a place in the amphitheatres.

    However, not all the students share the aforementioned argument. Some students, whose first language is French, hold that there is some element of bias exercised on them. This, bring to the fore, a perceived conflict as we will gather in the following videos. Let’s follow.
