Phone repairer Patrick owns a workshop near the Kenya Commercial Bank, just two minutes walk from the main road (Busia-kisumu highway). He like other technicians is faced with more and more impatient customers, who wants their phone repaired on the spot.

They are always in a hurry they don't want to leave their phone to be checked properly. So like such customers they are normally told to go back after maybe three days, actually to give the Technician ample time of checking what the problem is with that particular phone.

According to Ouma Onyango, one customer, the technicians are very clever, once they have realized that, the phone is beyond repair, they'll either tell you to go after so many days and when you go there you don't find them. You will always find their helpers whom will tell you that they don’t have the authority to give away the phone.

Locals find it so hard to deal with technicians because they never tell you right there and then that they cannot repair some of the phone they receive. It 's always good to admit that they( technicians) cannot deal with every technical problems they meet.
