Childslife International has helped build many schools in Kajiado since 2000. More than a thousand children are supported by that charity. Together with Esiloyia Maasai community, they provide the support for the requested educational plans and have worked with the local ministry of education in implementation of the projects. The Maasai parents participated in building of the projects.

Childslife International is helping the Esiloyai Maasai community through an education. For over eight years they have been assisting this Maasai community from nursery school to secondary school. Most of these children are the first from their families to attend school or even to learn how to write and read. Students receive school free breakfast and lunch every day. We are community to seeing our students graduate from secondary school and go to on to vocational school, college or university so that they can have an opportunity for economic independence, they in turn can help theirs families and communities rise out of poverty.

I believe that without the support of Childslife, especially many of the girls in school would never been enrolled. Numerous students would have had to drop out of school to be married. Few would have been able to afford secondary school, much less vocational college of university.

Along with providing educational opportunities for Maasai children, Childslife is working with Maasai women helping them to learn math, reading writing and history. The adult education programme began after the Maasai elders approached Childslife and asked help in educating women in thee community. A long process was started well before the school opened, mothers attended workshops, information was shared, community meetings with the elders where organized.

The Oloyiankalani Mixed Secondary School ensures that the children in Kajiado District receive the education they need, to build a better future for themselves and their communities.
