KIBAKI AND RAILA TO BEGIN JOINT RIFT VALLEY VISITS THURSDAY
- Posted on Wednesday 23 April 2008 - 15:07KENYAN President Mwai Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga will begin a joint three day reconciliation tour of the Rift Valley as a statement of their vision to ensure peace returns to the area after the naming fo the Grand Coalition government.
Kibaki and Raila will begin the joint rallieas in Eldoret Town that still houses thousands of IDPs, before proceeding to Chepalungu in North Rift.
On Friday the two will be in Central Rift Valley, Molo, Kuresoi and Nakuru towns.
They will then address similar joint rallies in Naivasha on Saturday.
A statement from the Presidential Press Service (PPS) confirmed the issue saying, "there will be no cabinet meeting tomorrow since the President, the Prime Minister and a big team will begin a three day tour of teh Rift Valley Province.
The tour begins despite protests by a section of area legislators that all those arrested after the post election violence should be released first before the healing begins.
