Ghanaians offer more support to Haiti
- Posted on Tuesday 26 January 2010 - 17:02Francisca Nuvor, VoicesofAfrica mobile reporter in Accra, GhanaFriends of Haiti Ghana in partnership with Joy FM and the International Red Cross on Saturday January 23rd held a solidarity concert in support of people in Haiti who were struck with a massive earthquake recently. The show, which was meant to raise fund was aimed at GH500, 000 cedi to support aid people in Haiti affected.Loading video...This concert which was held at Alliance Francaise in Accra was attended by countless number of people, both Ghanaians and Foreigners to give their support, where as most Ghanaian artist such as Praye, Reggie Rockstone and so many more were also there to grace the occasion free of charge. In an interview with some supporters, they are excited to be on this show because they want the same to be done to Ghana when such a misfortune happened.
Ama Dadson, Deputy Director of ICT Directorate, University of Ghana is one of the Core Members of Friends of Haiti Ghana said, she appreciate what the government has done for Haiti but they the core members think there is much to be done hence the concert. Friends of Haiti Ghana is a group of Ghanaians in both public and private sectors committed to showing solidarity to our sisters and brothers in Haiti in the wake of the devastation wrought on their country by the earthquake of January 2010.
The donation is as well made through telecommunication where the Word HAITI is text to 1962. It is also made through facebook and other network
