Mostly when am walking on the streets of Accra, i see houses with so many flowers. when I was growing up we kept little flowers in our lawns and living room. From my formative days till now I have been trying to find out why Ghanaians keep so many flowers in their house.
Most people I spoke to, told me the same stories I have been hearing for years. "for beautification". However when i went on to ask people any other reason apart from beautification, I got to know that Ghanaians do not keep flowers just for beautification. Some said they keep flowers for spiritual reasons " some flowers drive away evil spirits" others said flowers are kept for security reasons.
