Various stakeholders in the football fraternity in Ghana have met to deliberate on the way forward for the general organization of the elite league.

The 2008-2009 Globacom sponsored Premier League has suffered a major setback with poor attendance at the various sporting stadiums by the supporters making the clubs and the organizers of the League losing huge proceeds.

With the exception of the two glamorous clubs Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko which could fetch into millions of Ghana cedis when they log horns because of the historic nature of the traditional records.

However, this has drew the attention of the stakeholders of the league Professional League Board (PLB),Ghana Football Association (GFA),Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA),Sports Writers Association (SWAG),Security, Medical Practitioners, Media and supporters working out measures to revive the once better league in the Sub Sahara.

The Chairman of the Professional League Board Wilbeck Abra Appiah categorized the matches into three groups namely “A, B and C” for smooth running and monitoring of the league.

“Category ‘A’ matches involves Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, catecory ‘B’ matches involve either Kotoko or Hearts against other clubs and ‘C’ matches involve pairings between all other clubs.

On his part the GFA President Kwesi Nyatakyi entreated all and sundry to maker it a point to patronize the local league as the Europeans leagues notable the Englsigh,La Liga and Italian leagues have been hyped in the country .

Some supporters argued and appealed to the authority to reduce the charges at the various stadiums, and also the need for adequate security to be provided and above all fair and firm officiating are needed.
