FIFA threatens to suspend Togo
- Posted on Tuesday 12 October 2010 - 09:12Walter Wilson Nana, AfricaNews reporter in Buea, CameroonThe Emergency Committee of FIFA has made it clear that if elections are not held by November 6 2010 for whatever reason, the Togolese Football Association would be automatically suspended from international football.
The Committee was reacting to a request from FTF to extend the deadline to hold elections until November 6 2010 at the latest. This decision has been taken as the President of the FTF Interim Committee, General Seyi Mémène, will be out of the country in the coming weeks for medical reasons.
In addition, the FTF has been requested to send FIFA a new schedule for the elections as soon as possible.
