Cameroon coach names squad againt Togo

    The head coach of the Cameroonian national soccer team, Otto Pfister, has released his squad for the Saturday, March 28 2009, game against the Hawks of Togo. According to the Cameroon Football Federation, besides the regulars and the big names in the team, Pfister, has introduced some new comers.

    These include; MAYEBI Joslain of Hakach Amidar in Israel, CHEDJOU Aurélien, who trades his football at Lille, France, and ALO’O EFOULOU Paul, who plays at Angers, also in France.

    The rest are; team captain, Rigobert Song Bahanag, NJITAP Fotso Geremi Soreille, ETO’O Fils Samuel, KAMENI Idriss Carlos, MAKOUN Jean II, MBAMI Mbami Modeste, DJEMBA Djemba Eric, MBIA Stéphane, NGOM Kome Daniel, SOMEN A Tchoyi, ASSOU EKOTTO Benoît, BINYA Augustin, BIKEY Andre Stephane, SOULEYMANOU Hamidou, SONGO’O Franck, KOUEMAHA Dorge Rostand, WEBO Kwamou Achille, ESSAME Guy Stéphane, DEUMI Armand and MATOUKOU Eric.

    These players will also be part of a training camp, from March 23-27 in Ghana. The Lions will kick-start their last and joint phase of the 2010 eliminatories for the 2010 World Cup and the African Cup of Nations, at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra, Ghana.

    The Lome main stadium is under a FIFA ban as a result of crowd violence, during a Togo, Mali match in the earlier part of the eliminatories.

    The Togo – Cameroon match will be handled by Egyptian referees and will start at 16 Hours GMT.

    However, one player, football observers in Cameroon, have been questioning his absence is offensive midfielder, Achille Emana of Betis Seville in the Spanish La Liga. Many people in the country think that Emana is currently in top shape and do not understand why he is presently absent from the squad.
