    - There has been lack of protective gears among nurses working on Ebola cases posing a health risk. All the 100 URCS volunteers dispatched to the field to carry out surveillance and sensitization of the communities have been provided with protective gears to ensure they do not contract the disease. The protective gears include gloves, face masks, gumboots."When we came here, we realized that a number of nurses did not have gloves, jik, face masks to project themselves.   2. Uganda: Ebola claims up to 29 lives


    - The Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS) through its 100 trained volunteers is monitoring 435 people in Bundibugyo District who have had contacts with deceased people as a result of the deadly fever Ebola in one month. Through its community surveillance, mobilization and sensitization, URCS is monitoring the 435 cases of people who either buried a deceased person, handled beddings of a deceased person, or belongs to a household of the deceased person. “The 435 cases are being monitored from their homes, just incase they develop symptoms of Ebola,” Alice Uwase Anukur, the URCS Secretary General said. The volunteers visit the homes of the contact cases during the community m…
